Burglary - Residential - Lime Walk |

Dear Resident,
On 18th Feb a burglary took place at Lime Walk
Offence location is a shed within a garden in a residential area in the town of HEMEL HEMPSTEAD. Between stated dates and times two unknown suspects have attended the location via an unknown means and have gained access to the back garden by climbing over the fences from number 15. Suspects have come down the garden, opened one of the sheds and looked inside with torches. Suspects have then opened another shed and looked inside with torches.
One suspect has then attempted to gain entry to the garage however, was unable to as the garage was locked.
Suspects have then gone to another shed where garden equipment is stored, had a look around and then came back out. They did not take anything.
No items taken and suspects made off in an unknown direction via an unknown means.

Tips to prevent burglary:
Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed. Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features. Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place. Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages. Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home. Use laminate glass where possible for any rear doors or windows. If this is not practicable, consider the use of security film over existing windows. Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home. Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera, or a monitored burglar alarm. Consider adding trellis to any side or rear boundaries to add extra height up to a maximum of 2 metres.
